Wellness with Jessica Sepel: Insights from the Founder of JSHealth

Jessica Sepel has become a source of inspiration for many people. Her delicious recipes and wonderfully balanced approach to health and wellness has earned her a spot among the top  female wellness founders and a place in the homes and hearts of many.

Jessica proudly promotes a wholesome approach to health by taking the time to respect the temple that is our own body.

We sat down with Jessica to talk about all things beauty and wellness.

1. There is a great relationship between the food we eat, the way we treat our bodies and the way we feel and act. What do you feel is the most rewarding part of living a healthy lifestyle?

It is all interwoven. We can’t feel good without taking good care of ourselves. I make the choice to eat nutritious foods and move in ways I love. I wake up feeling amazing. I have the energy and passion to achieve my goals; to live the life of my dreams.

2. As a positive body image role model to many women, what would you say to women (or men) that struggle with loving their bodies?

Commit to understanding the way your body works – it’s truly fascinating! When you listen to the cues your body is giving you, you’ll be amazed. You can’t help but love this incredible vessel when you’re in tune. You are magnificent!

3. Listening to your body and taking time for yourself is something that you proudly advocate. What are some things that everyone can do to make sure they are not overworking their minds and bodies?

Rest, rest, rest. I cannot emphasize enough how important proper rest is for our minds and bodies. Rest is not a luxury – it is a necessity. Identify time each and every day that allows you to relax and do something truly enjoyable, whether it’s a walk, meditation, reading a good book, treating yourself to a manicure, or simply unplugging and getting solid sleep. Your body will thank you by looking AND feeling beautiful.

4. What are some small changes that you incorporate into your daily routine that we all could adopt to improve our overall health?

·       Cut back on stress. It’s my belief that stress is what sabotages our health. I take 10–15 minutes every day that are just for me to meditate, breathe deeply, take a bath, read, or simply rest (there it is again!).

·       Practice gratitude. I write in a gratitude journal every day. As corny as it might sound, it keeps me grounded and stress-free. You can’t feel stressed when you feel grateful.

·       Make the commitment to love yourself. When you do this, healthy living is easy. You respect your body, what you do to it, what you put into it. There becomes no other way.

·       Cut back on sugar – my ultimate suggestion for improving diet and overall quality of life.

5. Having grown into such an inspirational figure within the health and wellness industry, what’s next for you?

I want to reach people on a global scale. I also think it would be great fun to design a line of activewear!

7. How do you Eat Beautiful?

Beauty starts in the kitchen. I believe in fueling and nourishing my body with real, whole foods. That means clean, unprocessed foods that are as close to their natural state as possible.

Jessica is a truly inspirational woman, who we are so grateful to have had the chance to speak with!
